Unto Death pt.2

Fraser Hardy

Mark 8: 34- 38

'If anyone wants to be my follower you must turn from your selfish ways , take up your cross and follow me.

If you try to save your life you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake you will find it'.

Our humanity will always try to get its own way and try to stay in control of the ‘drivers seat’ but Jesus, when facing the cross made it clear; only when some things die will we see the true resurrection life of Christ appear in us .

Dying can be painful - but once dead you are at peace.

In the cross we are called to commit an unknown future into the hands of a known God.

When we understand a cross centred life, we carry about in us a resurrection hope, a seed that becomes deeply embedded in us.
